Daily Blog Starts Today!

Hello, and welcome to the Build Diary of the Granada Hills Charter High School Robotics team, also known as The Robodox! For those of you who don’t know us, we are an active group of high school students, from freshmen to seniors, who participate in numerous robotics competitions throughout the year.

Currently, we are building a robot for the FIRST robotics competition, with the help of sponsors like Cooler Master, Sapphire, Industrial Metal Supply! This blog will serve as a public face to document our progress throughout the build season, which is currently underway!

In the first post, we revealed this year’s game: STRONGHOLD! As a basic premise, it’s a tower defense/assault game played with two teams of three robots each, but don’t worry, we only need to build one. Each team will form an alliance with two other teams and face off against another alliance of three teams, and attempt to disable each other’s defenses, launch “boulders” into each other’s towers, and then challenge and scale the opposing tower in order to capture it. I can go on, but it would simply be easier if you watched the video!

For the next four weeks, we hope you enjoy watching our progress, from overall design to prototyping and finally building the robot. Please leave us a comment, as we would love to hear from you, and let us know what you think!

Regards,
